All 10 county commissioners have decided to unionize and go on strike demanding that better constituents be added to their districts. Local economists predicted that while the commission is out on strike productivity and growth in the county is expected to reach the highest levels in decades.
Dennis Williams was quoted saying, “We want some voters who don’t stinkin complain. I am sick of complaints about garbage in the streets, uncut right of ways and tax increases. I am tempted to bring back Marion Williams goats”
Ben Hasan stated, “Why can’t we just get some of those Columbia County voters over here in my district. They are talking about annexing West Augusta why cant we annex part of Grovetown or Martinez into my district?”
All of the commissioners cited being overwhelmed and overworked for little pay. Demands also included not having to work so hard to get votes.
