In light of the Waukesha, WI parade catastrophe, Mayor Hardie Davis’ SUV has been banned from the Augusta Christmas parade.

The decision was made by the county commission after careful consideration of the mayor’s comments related to the Veterans Day parade.

“It is clear the mayor hates any event in Augusta where is not the point of focus and the spotlight is not on him,” Commissioner Sean Frantom stated. “In light of that we thought it might be best for the mayor to leave the SUV at home this year.

Davis responded that the decision was not unfair and that the SUV doesn’t get used very often anyway. “This was one of the only opportunities to highlight my new SUV. It is really a great vehicle after I retrofitted it with bullet proof glass to help protect me from all of the threats my office receives.”

When asked about the threats Davis would not comment on how many his office has received.
