Doug Duncan, announced this morning that Columbia County was willing to annex West Augusta into Columbia County to save it from the recent redistricting plan.
“They chopped that district up and divided it to ensure that there will never be republican commissioners,” Duncan said. “We can fix that. We welcome them to Columbia County. But only the conservative ones”
Duncan who rode in on a white unicorn to save the county was criticized by Richmond County Administrator Odie Donald.
“They have taken enough of our people. Citizens are constantly moving from Richmond County to Columbia because of the better schools, restaurants, lower crime and generally just cleaner appearance,” Donald said. “It’s just not fair. I can’t fix the problems of Richmond County when the good people keep leaving and moving to Columbia County”.
