In an effort to stop the population decline in Richmond County, Augusta officials taken a new take on an old Donald Trump policy. A border wall.
Mayor Hardie Davis stated, “We know walls work. We have always known that. We just dint want to admit that walls worked while Trump was president.”
Other commissioners voiced their support for the wall that would surround Richmond County from one portion of the Savannah River to another.
Oddly enough Columbia County put a statement that they to welcome the wall stating, “We are good with Richmond County residents staying in Richmond County. We already have the ones that we wanted. The rest can stay put. The few that we might grant the right to move in we would put into Grovetown anyway which is an area that we don’t really care about who moves there.”
In other news Augusta Commissioner Catherine McKnight said that she plans to build her own wall around her district in an effort to prevent the lines from being redrawn.
